Winters in Lapland are truly special. The endless white covers the land and trees. The skies are milky white. The nights are full of color.
Jesse and Jon came from Canada to celebrate their wedding at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in the Finnish Lapland. Their wedding day was dark and cloudy with no sun light. However, I enjoyed shooting in the creamy atmosphere. Kakslauttanen Resort features a cozy little glass teepee. This was where the Lapland-style wedding ceremony took place. Paula from the fabulous Hey Look team decorated the teepee with candles and rose petals. A reindeer sleigh ride waited to Jesse and Jon outside the hotel, and was the coolest addition to this adventure.
As darkness set over the forest we went on a night safari adventure. The northern lights were very mild on this night due to the cloudy skies. But this did not stop Jesse and Jon from having a night adventure.
On of my favorite perks of Lapland winter is the massive amounts of snow, and the snow-covered trees. This is probably the most beautiful thing about Lapland. It is something one does not see in Helsinki even on the most snowy days. And the first thing you notice in Lapland is the frozeness of it all, the stillness, the quietness.
