SANNI + SANTERI
Kallion Kirkko Häät | Urbaanit Häät Kalliossa | Garden by Olo Häät | Urban Wedding in Helsinki
Many couples postponed their weddings in 2020 due to the Covid19 pandemic. First, it seemed like lock-downs might ease in the summer. But then summer came and even if some restrictions were lifted, most couples were still not able to go forward with their initial plans. However, some couples decided to get married and planned for small ceremonies and outdoor dinning with their guests.
Kallion Kirkko Häät | Urbaanit Häät Kalliossa
Sanni and Santeri’s small wedding celebration started in Helsinki’s hipster neighborhood Kallio. Firstly, they married in the Kallio Church with by only the closest friends and family. The church’s tall granite body is the most prominent building in Kallio. After the ceremony, guests served a glass of champagne right outside the church. Meanwhile, Sanni and Santeri had time for a few portraits with the Kallio Church background. Afterward, walked around the neighborhood fro a few more portraits. My favorite discovery was a pink-walled building right across the street from Kallion Kirkko, which served as the perfect backdrop for our urban wedding portraits.
Garden by Olo Häät
Sanni and Santeri chose a clever venue for their dinner, the Garden by Olo restaurant in the city center. This laid-back bistro is located in a city garden under a glass roof, just behind its Michelin starred sister-restaurant Olo. In fact, the tables are set in a covered courtyard, making outdoor dining possible even in rainy weather. Additionally, Garden by Olo offers excellent modern Scandinavian food with local ingredients and a menu design by Mikko Pakola.
