Jalda and Keith planned to get married in Helsinki, but then.. 2020 happened. Most of their guests living abroad, they decided to postpone the wedding for the following summer. We celebrated their original wedding date with an engagement session in Käpylä, the wooden house district of Helsinki.
Puu-Käpylä is a garden city built in Helsinki in the 1920s. The colorful wooden houses are surrounded by beautiful gardens. My in-laws used to live close to this area, I’ve been taking so many walks in this beautiful neighborhood back in the days when Rufus and I were dating. So it’s no wonder this place is close to my heart. Yet it is truly beautiful in its own right, and I’ve been dreaming of photographing a couple here for a while. And so, when Jalda and Keith told me they live in Käpylä, I knew their couple session was going to be a very special one.
