ANNI + JOONAS
Mathildedalin Ruukkitehtaat Häät | Siviilivihkiminen Ulkona | Häät Mathildedalissa
They met as teenagers in a summer camp and had been good friends for years before dating. Joonas is a diehard sports guy, while Anni is much into music. But they share the same core values in life and found a shared passion for exploring nature. They hike, ski, and kayak together and always aim to make nature a part of their days.
Mathildedal Häät – Hääjuhla Mathildedalissa
This love for nature was their starting point when designing and planning their wedding. Therefore, it was essential to find a location that would offer a beautiful spot for their outdoor ceremony. And with nature in mind, Mathildedal has a lot to offer. This old village is tucked right between Teijo National Park and the Baltic sea. Its small community frequently organizes concerts, art exhibitions, and other events, becoming a beautiful place to visit in the summers.
Anni planned for a relaxed schedule thought the day, giving her plenty of time to enjoy the morning with the bridesmaids while Joonas was hanging out with his guys. To incorporate the nature theme, we took most of the ‘getting ready’ images outdoor. This must be the most fun I’ve had taking bridal party photos.
First Look Kuva
Anni and Joonas wanted to have plenty of time for photos without keeping their guests waiting. So we planned for a First Look before the ceremony. This was a touching moment when Anni and Joonas met for the first time on the morning of their wedding, surrounded by their friends.
Afterward, they took a moment to share private vows. I was genuinely moved to witness their deep love for each other.

The Foundry at Mathildedal is an idyllic place for private events such as summer weddings. With beautiful arched windows and still present elements from the ironworks era, the Mathildedalin Ruukiteehtaat venue creates a charming setting. Anni put a great deal of thought into the wedding decor, incorporating plenty of greenery and wooden elements. The room was decorated by LittleWeddingFactory, giving it an airy and nostalgic look.

Looking back on the wedding experience, Anni writes:
Our wedding day worked out so well and beyond our expectations in many ways. We’d been planning the wedding for two years and because we started early we were able to book our first choice of photographer, florist, cake, band …pretty much everything. Which was awesome! Also since we planned everything in advance the weeks before the wedding weren’t really too stressful at all. It would be my number one piece of advice for people planning a wedding to book everything as soon as you have a date. To Joonas the most important thing was to have good food and to me it was the music and the decorations.
The highlights of the day were the ceremony itself and the evening when all the formal parts were over and we could just dance the night away. The day was full of wonderful moments and I love that we now have photos to remember them all by. We have no complaints on any of the vendors, but we (and our guests) were especially happy with the band. The band (Sense) was absolutely amazing and they were such professionals. I couldn’t recommend them enough. We were also very happy with the florist Little Wedding Factory.
