Modern Vietnamese Wedding in Helsinki | Hima ja Sali Wedding | Vietnamese Urban Wedding
What are the most important elements of the wedding for you? “The first dance, the atmosphere, family & friends, joyful moments, spontaneous things, exchange of rings,” Quynh and Duy wrote me. A Finnish/Vietnamese couple currently living in the Netherlands planning an modern vietnamese wedding in Helsinki.
And what an awesome day, Quynh and Duy’s wedding has been! Full of laughter, dear friends, creative urban portraits, emotions running high. I loved getting to learn more about Vietnamese culture and wedding traditions. And I was honored to receive full creative freedom when it came to the photos, as Quynh and Duy trusted me completely. The result.. well you must just judge for yourself, but as for me, I could hardly decide what images to share from the multitudes of many amazing ones.

Quynh and Duy’s chose Hima & Sali as their wedding venue. And I have to admit, it is such a cool place for an Urban Wedding. This venue is located in Ruoholahti, a dynamic district where the historic industrial milieu gives space for both new business and art, inside the Cable Factory. Once an industrial complex producing rubber and marine cables, the Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas) is now one of the largest cultural centers in Finland. It hosts museums, galleries, dance theaters, the Hima & Sali restaurant, art schools, and companies active in the creative industry. One of the rent-able spaces inside the Cable Factory is a rooftop sauna, featuring a large terrace overlooking the sea. This is where Quynh and Duy got ready.
