I am yours as the stars belong to the sky,
yours though infinite lifetimes of adventure.
When you speak I revere in ardent admiration:
I look at you as an astronaut looks at the Earth,
you arrest me in every possible way.
I am in love with your magnificent mind,
I wish I could explore it’s creative mechanical chaos.
My soul dances when I lay my head against your beating heart
and it whispers “I am home”, happy in it’s realm, flourishing,
because of you.
I promise to challenge you, to learn from you,
to be the best version of myself I can be, for you.
As you are calm in the face of the storm,
I will help shoulder our darkest hours.
As you are consulate,
I will be your navigator and solace.
I will dream with you, and beside you.
You make me laugh louder, smile brighter and live better.
You are my best friend.
All that I am and all that I have, I am yours.

Traditional Scottish Wedding
I love international weddings and all the traditions they involve. So I was extra excited to learn all about the Scottish groom attire:
Kilt. The symbol of the Scottish highlands, the tartan worn depends on the clan the groom belongs to.
Sporran. Since the kilt has no pockets, the sporran serves as a wallet and a pouch for necessary personal items.
Kilt pin. Keeps the apron of the kilt from blowing open.
Hose. Scottish socks with awesome patterns.
Flashes. Stop the hose from falling down and it complements the kilt outfit.
Sgian dubh (my favorite accessory). A hidden single edged knife tucked into the side of the hose.

Scottish Highlands Wedding
In the days of the highland clans when the bride and groom exchanged their wedding vows their hands were lightly bound by cloth or tartan (this is where the expression “tying the knot” comes from). It is a symbolic gesture showing that the couple are joined to one another. Using tartan is a way of recognizing the marriage as a union between two families.
The hand-fasting and the knot created symbolizes how together the couple is stronger.
You are my husband
My feet shall run because of you,
My heart shall beat because of you,
My mind thinks because of you.
You are my wife
My feet dance because of you,
My eyes see because of you
And I shall love, because of you.
I am yours, as the rivers belong to the oceans,
your in body, mind and spirit.
I love the amazement you have of the universe,
the wide eyed way in which you see the world,
your deep fascination with all the things to see and explore.
I admire the high bar that you set for life,
that you strive towards the exceptional.
And even though I am the more cautious of the two,
I will follow as you stride forward with ambition
so we can make these journeys together.
We have grown together as the deepest roots grow into the tallest branches.
We keep each other afloat above the depths of the oceans.
You can share my balloon as we drift on the winds of life.
I will guide us thought the wilds and deal with the monsters.
I will bring light to our darkest times
and always hold your hand when we are up high.
As we dance in the dark on the bridge between two cities
and dine in the sky as the sun sets in the heat,
we sill always know these things for the first time together
and always share these things that are ours alone.
You are my best friend.
All that I am and all that I have, I am yours.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding was the end dance “Auld Land Syne”.
Witnessing this was such a powerful, heartwarming experience.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
