If you’ve read the “About” section of my website, you might already know that I have a background in Architecture and Urban Planning. Studying Architecture has had a big influence over my photography work. It taught me how to see space, texture, interaction of light, and perspective. It also shaped my perception of urban space, and gave me courage to express myself.

I cannot hide that I love photographing urban weddings, and thrive when shooting wedding portraits in urban spaces. Most couples wish for locations featuring Finnish forest backgrounds or the sea as a backdrop. But with Zorina and Aleksis we shot the entire wedding portraits session in urban settings. I savoured every minute of it, and I treasure the result of this shoot. We used so many cool backgrounds and mix of textures in this shoot, and all were found within a 10 minutes walking zone from the Helsinki Court House where Zorina and Aleksis had their ceremony. Also, these locations work perfectly with Zorina’s minimalistic wedding dress.
