.
I often cover winter destination weddings in Lapland, especially in winter. Winters in Lapland are magical. In early January, the nights are long and the days are sometimes not existent.
The “daylight” hours are short, perhaps an hour or two at most. There is no actual “sunlight”, only a dusk that turns into dawn without a sunrise. Nevertheless, the dusk moments deliver the most beautiful pink light you will ever experience. And combined with the pristine snow covering the wilderness, this makes for a most wonderful scenery you’ll ever experience. And now imagine getting married in Lapland in the winter. Or you don’t have to imagine, just follow along on Sarah and David’s story.
Sarah and David came from US to get married in Lapland. Sarah paired her gorgeous dress with the most elegant furry hand warmer muff. After the first look photos, they traveled to the ceremony location in full Lapland style (by reindeer sleigh). The ceremony took place in Kakslauttanen’s Glass Tepee. The party followed as night set. After the dinner, the couple and their guests went on a night safari. Unfortunately, the sky was fully covered by clouds and no Northern Lights were visible. Nevertheless, the Snow Tank Safari was a blast.
