Last spring I was part of the Creative Wedding Workshop together with Hey Look and Susanna Nordvall.
My part focused on teaching fellow photographers how to be successful as a wedding photographer in Finland. It was truly inspiring to be part of this workshop. It brought together the most celebrated vendors of the Finnish wedding, as well as an eager to learn group of photographers.
The workshop included two inspiration sessions, fully styled by Hey Look. “We wanted to create a classic, contemporary setting with nordic touches. In accordance with clean nordic styles and tastes, a slightly more minimalistic take on an elegant wedding in a traditional environment. Our aim was to design a wedding, that would fit the budget of couples in nordic countries – where flowers and decor can cost a small fortune, yet be a truly elegant and lush affair. At the same time, we wanted to focus on locally sourced ingredients and materials. Our floral designs were set on a bed of foraged greenery from local forrests. The catering, Aan Tafel, used wild herbs, moss, flowers and local ingredients for their delicious creations.” says Michaela from Hey Look.
The couple in this inspiration session, Sassi and Timo, are friends of mine whom I’ve met through architecture. They are a lively, creative couple who love traveling and the outdoors.
