The interior of Meilahti Church offers warm and welcoming atmosphere. The church service was a beautiful and emotional ceremony. The reception was held at the parish hall, where friends and family gathered to remember and celebrate the life of the deceased.
Non-religious services at Hietaniemi Crematorium often start with a musical interlude and continue with obituary and poem readings. Family and friends of the deceased have the opportunity to say a last farewell, and lay flowers and wreaths to surround the coffin. At the end of the service the coffin slides slowly out of the chapel to the accompaniment of music.
The Nurmijarvi chapel, with its beautiful altar painting and comforting atmosphere, was the perfect setting for this intimate and emotional occasion. As I photographed the funeral, I couldn’t help but be struck by the peaceful atmosphere of the chapel. It truly is a special place.

In my 15+ years as a photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing some of the most meaningful moments in people's lives. From weddings and graduations to the birth of a new baby, I have been there to document these important milestones. And while my work is often focused on joyful occasions, I likewise understand the importance of funeral photography.
I offer a unique and deeply personal service to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives, helping them preserve precious memories for future generations.
